Dongbu Advanced Research Institute was established in October 1995 with the aim of competing with the world's top business firms through possessing core technology of its own. Located at the center of the Daeduck Science Town, the mecca of Korean science and technology, Dongbu is fully equipped with infrastructure facilities to conduct research from basic research to commercialization of technologies.

Dongbu Advanced Research Institute commands an area of 99,174㎡ on which there are 22,810㎡ of buildings, including 8,238㎡ of research building, 1,283㎡ of power plant, 4,529㎡ of pilot plant for commercialization research, 1,243㎡ of Business incubator and 4,017㎡ of glass greenhouse. The institute secured an huge open area that can be utilized for a supplementary building if needed.

Dongbu Advanced Research Institute is divided into Agropharma Research Institute, Business incubator, Materials research institute, Analysis center and Native plants institute to develop leading-edge products, and is in possession of 200 kinds of modern research equipment and devices, including XRD, FT-NMR, FT-IR, SEM, GC-MS, 300Mhz NMR and HPLC and 80 kinds of super analysers and autoclaves for composition and testing.

Dongbu Advanced Research Institute consists of core research members who are engaged in analyzing, assessing and consulting for the commer-cialization of medicine, safety and environment. The institute is also challenging ultra-modern research areas that have been out of read in Korea by coordinating with advanced overseas research centers.
